'Just Leap' by Sandi Spink
Hi everyone, I'm very excited to be joining the BeeArty DT team and share my first inspiration project a canvas I created with Colour Artist Ink and some of this months club kit 'Fearless, Brave and Free' by Fiona Paltridge.
Using a 20cm square canvas I used Colour Blast White Heavy Gesso to seal the canvas surface.
After drying the gesso with a heat gun I placed small amounts of the Artist Inks onto my work mat and used a brush to apply the ink to variety of sections of the canvas to areas that I had sprayed lightly with water. A spatula is great to smear White Heavy Gesso over a BeeArty stencil, which when dry I sprinkled Mica Powders over the raised surface and then sprayed it with a fine spray mist of water to disperse the colour.
The die cuts and stamped images I placed on the canvas were painted with the inks diluted to provide watercolour style
and undiluted for colour depth and strength. The papers and titles
available from Bee Arty papers provide amazing diverity in what you can
fussy or messy cut out and arrange in varies ways and gave me lots of
opportunities to layers for a great effect. To finish the canvas I used
cotton, silver element and doodling with a fine tip pen.
