3 Imaginarium Christmas Creations

Hi Sandi here its hard to believe another year is gone and it's that magical time of the year again. So this month I'd love to share with you with some Christmas creations I've made with the wonderful Imaginarium Designs Chipboard.

The first of my creations is the card I've made for a very special friend of mine. 

 Using white card stock I used Lindy Stamp Gang ink to dribble down to make a background pattern, I added a piece of distressed hessian and then added the some red dyed hessian threads, chipboard, flowers, gold/white thread and cheese cloth. The reindeer was inked with pinecone Versa Color ink, the branches were firstly covered with white sprayed gesso then Lindy Stamp Gang ink sprayed onto it, (one branch was reversed so the ink absorbed into the untreated side of the chippie. The Trees were inked with silver Versa Ink and then the trees were embossed with Metallic Melts.

 My next creation was a Christmas tag for one of my scrappy friends. Tags make presents that little bit more special and personal so maybe you could make one for that special gift.

The tag was made from a cardboard box and covered by hessian before being painted with black gesso. A white resin pinecone was covered with matte gel medium and then covered with Autumn Mega Flakes. I cut a reindeer from my new diecut I'd purchased from Seriously Scrapbooking in Adelaide and then inked my chipboard reindeer a deep red. I covered the chippie stars with Lindy Stamp Gang ink and then added some Metallic melts. The bauble was painted black and then using a watered down white gesso mixed with a small amount of Matte gel medium traced the pattern on the chippie. I added white sprayed gesso to the word peace. The extra pieces added to the tag included flowers, paper doily, white cheesecloth, white whipped spackle, white/gold thread and a metal star.

 My third and final creation for this year for Imaginaruium Designs is something I have challenged myself with. I was inspired by my great friend Fiona who has been experimenting with Ecodyes and hangings and thought I would give it a try. I'm rapped with how it turned out, hope you like it too.

 

 I placed mint onto a piece of hessian and piece of calico and after rolling and tying the roll up boiled it for a few minutes in salted boiling water. The material smelt nice but the colour wasn't very successful so I used Lindy Stamp Gangs ink to add green to the calico. A stitch stamp was used down one side of the hanging as well as some hand sewing. The resin frame was painted with Lindy's Stamp Gang spray ink and then dry brushed with Bronze water colour paint.The 'Magic' and '25' chipboard was coated in glossy accents and then I added Autumn Mega flakes onto the glue and left to dry then brushed off the excess. Many items were either sown, glued or stapled onto the material. Some of the elements I added included crochet doilies, old lace, old zipper, cardboard, hessian threads, flowers, metal keys and embellishments and string dyed with Lindy's Stamp Gang ink sprays. The tree was inked with Versa ink and then embossed with Metallic Melts. The large flourish at the back and word Christmas were inked with Pinecone Versa ink and then along with the resin frame brushed with Bronze water colour palette paint. To finish off the wall hanging I sewed the hessian to the stick and then placed a string hanging handle.

Christmas Snap Shots- Imaginarium Designs Dec Theme

Hi Everyone, Great to see you dropping by to check out my Imaginarium Designs Christmas Inspiration Layout.  It's hard to believe my grand daughter is about to turn 6 next month. Here are some photos of her loving having a swing on "Nanny's swing" in our backyard, she loved swinging not at all scared of going high. 

Items I used included:

• 12" x 12" white cardstock

Background:

1. Laying a variety of stars on the paper as masks I sprayed the first 1/3 of the page with 'Risso's Rowdy Red". 
2.  After removing the stars I stamped some script with StazOn black ink over the area.
3. I placed carefully a smear of gel medium over the section I wanted to put Mega flakes to add the Christmas shine to my page. 

Chipboard:

1.  'Baubles' were covered in Christmas paper from my stash, the tops were embossed using 'Gold Nugget' Metallic Melts and Black wire thread tied to the top.
2. 'Family Snap Shots' were inked with 'Pinecone' Versa ink and then the 'Snap' was embossed with 'Gold nugget'
3. 'Merry Christmas' was inked with 'Bisque' Versa ink and then 'Gold nugget' embossed
4. 'Branches and leaves' was inked with 'Cardinal' Versa ink and then embossed with 'Glistening Snow'

Layers:

1. Layering the die-cuts, chipboard and flowers until happy.
2. Placing the front photo which has the frame glued to it onto a piece of cardboard lifts it up to provide depth to your layout
3.  Then the layout is finished with the white with gold thread around and under the frame.

All I want for Christmas is a 3 wheeler bike - Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia December Inspiration.

The years are flying; my beautiful grand-daughter was so little back when this photo was taken and now she is about to turn 6. All she wanted was a bike for Christmas she told me so as 'Nanny' had no choice but to ensured this happened. So I thought I would use this photo over at the Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia December Challenge.

 

I created this page for you all to show you how you can use these memories to show case your Christmas photos and get them out of the digital world we are so caught up in and where we don't get to reminisce as often as we should.

Items I used included:

• 12" x 12" white cardstock
• Imaginarium Designs chipboard: 21 Stars in a board, Bike, Merry Christmas, Branches and leaves and Twigs.
•  Lindy's Stamp Gang- Flat Pablio 'Greased Lightnin' Green', 'Risso's Rowdy Red'
• Reindeer Die 'Dasher'- Inctricutz dies Couture Creations.
• Indigo Blue Mega flakes 'Autumn Blaze'
• Kaisercraft 'St Nicholas' collection paper stack and diecut pack.
• Script stamp  Stampendous 'Vintage Note'
• White with gold thread twine.
• Cheese cloth
•  Versa ink 'Cardinal', 'Black', 'Pinecone', 'Bisque'
• Metallic melts 'gold nugget'
• StazOn black ink.
• Tree embellishment 

 

1. I placed a selection of 'Stars' onto the cardstock and sprayed the LSG 'Greased Lightnin' Green' over them lightly producing a masking effect.
2.  I also used this technique on another layout using 'Risso's Rowdy Red' and so I was able to utilise both sides of the stars for my Christmas layouts and cards this month.
3. When dry I stamped my script stamp with StazOn onto the masked area.
4. The Imaginarium Design chipboard was inked with Versa ink in the colours that were matched with the Metallic melts.
5. One of the large green stars was covered with glue and I covered it with Mega flakes to give the page some Christmas shine.
6. I cut a reindeer from the Kaisercraft Christmas paper using my 'Big shot'
7. Attaching a piece of cut cardboard behind the photo I stacked the die-cuts, chipboard, Christmas tree embellishment and cheesecloth between the paper and photo.
8. I finished the page with twine around the photo and using a journaling pen wrote around the edge of the page.

Imaginarium Designs - Design Team November inspiration

Hi Everyone, Sandi here and it's that time again to share with you my love of using Imaginarium Design Chipboard to make my creations special.

My first creation is a layout I created around one of my favourite childhood photos. This photo as taken at my Aunties wedding in which I was the flowergirl.

I used silver Versa Color ink to cover the birdcage chipboard and then embossed it with silver Metallic Melts, white Versa Color ink was used to cover the frame and flourish pieces embossing them with white Metallic Melts and finally the 'smile' with Versa Magic Perfect Plumeria and then covered with glossy accents. The background was created by spraying the paper first with water and then using a brush loaded with water and Lindy's Stamp Gang 'Magnolia Magenta Gold' placing the colour in two sections, to soften the edges I resprayed the ink water leaving the paper to dry thoroughly. My next step was to mix some gesso, water and matt gel medium in a fine tipped squeezy bottle and swishing the mix over the inked areas. I finished the layout with splats of ink, a range of white flowers, diamond bling and black enamel dots.

My next creation is a tag. I'm really enjoying making tags each month to share with some of my scrapping friends and you. This one has a rustic natural feel using a mix of recycled and new elements.

  

The tag was made from cutting a piece of cardboard from a cardboard box, I like to re-use my recycled bits and pieces where I can.
I tore some patterned paper and glued it onto 3/4 of the tag, I cut the border chippie into smaller pieces and glued 2 pieces onto either side of the tag. I added chipboard, embellishment elements, wire, flowers and ribbons.  Imaginarium Designs Chipboard used included (all coated with spray white gesso):

• ' Edith frame' -White Versa Color ink with White Metallic Melts
• 'Nat's hearts' - Perfect Plumeria Versa Color ink and Pink Metallic melts
• 'Embellishment border 1' - Pinecone Versa Color ink with carbon Metallic Melts. 
• 'Peacock feathers'- Black Versa Color ink with carbon Metallic Melts.

My last creation  I'd like to share is inspired by a photo shoot I participated in with my local photographic group. We were practicing taking  portraits with coloured lights.

This background was created using Lindy's Stamp Gang 'Urban Amethyst' Magical Flat powders ink applied onto wet cardstock with a well water loaded brush dipped into the ink and transferring it onto the paper with a dab on method. I lightly sprayed water on after each application and finished off the the background with splats of the ink and also white drawing ink when the main section was dry. All chipboard was sealed with spray on white gesso before applying colour and embossing.  
Imaginarium Designs chipboard used included :

• Denise's border- was sprayed with spray gesso and stamped used a script stamp with StazOn black ink.
• Lou's hearts- covered with Versa Color 'Indigo' and embossed with a mix of 'Royal Purple', 'Gold Nugget' and 'Copper' Metallic Melts.
• Strike a pose and Criss Cross Frame- was covered in 'Black' Versa Color and 'Carbon' Metallic Melts.
• Stars in a board- coated with 'Bisque' Versa Color and 'Gold Nugget' Metallic Melts.
