Teal Colour Challenge- Imaginarium Designs DT Inspiration

Hi scrapping friends

Over at Imaginarium Designs we are creating with one of my favourite colours 'Teal'.

The background to my journal page was created by gluing torn book pages into my journal and  rubbing teal, deep blue and white acrylic paint over the page with my fingers. To add more white I dipped string into white acrylic paint and placed it onto the page with a end hanging over edge, I then closed the book and pulled string out. The two flourishes were painted teal before cutting one in half. White paint was used with the new crosses stencil and a sponge to add crosses to the background, numbers were also added with black stamping of a numeral stamp set and chipboard dipped in white paint.  A white correction marker edged the crosses and numbers when they were dry. Other additions to the background included the stamping of a range of stamps including some houses and using a white waterbased pencil to trace around the flourishes and softened with some water.

March Imaginarium Design Inspiration

Hi everyone,

Over at Imaginarium Designs our theme so I thought I'd put a touch of Teal tones into some of my March creations in this months share.

This month I was really excited about the new products and chipboard our design team is able to share with you. So when I found there was stencils I couldn't wait to use them. I had been wondering how I could use this photo I took of a knight participating in a jousting demonstration at our Kryal Castle visit a couple of years ago and seeing the new products ideas began to flow.

The background was created by using Texture Paste Translucent Matte by Ranger smeared over one of our new stencils from our 'Mallory Mask and Stencil set'. When dry I used lots of water and Lindys Magicals powders 'mad hatter mint' and 'tweedle dee demin' to make a water colour wash. The border was painted with a deep blue from Diana Wakley acrylics paints and the phrase words 'live each day with heart' with the same Lindy's 'mint'

My second creation was another 12" x 12" layout, this time using the amazing 'Hazy Days' 7 Dots Studio papers designed by my wonderful friend Fiona Paltridge. Her papers were perfect to compliment the style of the chippie I chose for the photo to celebrate our daughters friendship and of the times spent together which were filled with love and laughter.

I used Diana Wakley acrylics to add colour to my page, then painted the chipboard pieces in a 13@rts 'deep blue', to match a colour that I pulled from the paper.  Using Diana Wakley 'Tangerine' I sponged the colour over our new 'Hearts' stencil  to balance the orange of my daughters windcheater with the background paper. To finish off I used white and teal twine to frame the photo and tie the layers to the paint I added to the background.

I was wondering what I hadn't shared with you lately and realised when I went to my card stash I was out of luck, so here's a card to inspire you to make some for a card stash for those 'Quick I need a special card' moments we all have.

My cards' background was some paper I'd made using my gelli plate last year in of course my favourite colours glued onto white card stock with gel medium. Using some teal acrylic paint I sponged over our new 'Triangles' stencil, tracing around the edges with a black pen when dry. I used the left over negative of the 'Love live laugh' chipboard piece painted 'Teal' as my title, painting behind it in black made the words stand out, and hand painted acrylic dots in teal filled the sections o the words that were missing. To frame the title I cut the bottom of 'My favourite Holiday' photo section off and used the outer edge painted black for the frame. Adding some paper dies, arrows painted with graduating colour, a few yellow 'crosses' and a pen sketched line border around card edge pulled it all in together.
