A peachy time in November at Imaginarium Designs

Hoping you have been able to get some time to create over the last month. This month was a challenge and a half for me...peach...definitely not a colour I use or love...but surprise surprise I actually became inspired by the colour and ideas flowed easier than I thought.

The pages of this journal page were firstly sealed with white gesso. When very dry I used my fingers to combined yellow and pink Dusty Attic acrylic paint to make peach across the pages. Gesso over the heart and clock stencils blended and softened the colour over the page. The patterned edge around the page was created by dipping the edge of the scalloped edged tag into the grey acrylic paint and a burgundy paint being used to cover the 'Time flies' and 'frame' chippie. Black paint mixture in a fine tipped bottle was used to make the black circular lines around the photos. Old lace, gold pointer stickers and paint splats finished the page.

Imaginarium Design products used included:
Clock Face Stencil IDMM003
Heart Stencil IDMM001
Five tags in a board IDS0064
Leah Frame IDFR0034
Time flies when you're having fun IDP0064

It's a journal type of day, here's another.... I used stencils and the chippie negatives as stencils on this background.

I mixed my own peach colour using pink and pale yellow acrylic and smeared it across my gesso covered pages. Gel medium was placed over the cross stencil and let to dry. Using blue and yellow acrylic and the negatives of circles and arrow chippie. Stamping and pen scribbling edging borders the page, circles, arrows and crosses. The finishing touch was adding one of Fiona Paltridges Little Peeps Aall&create stamp sets.

Products used:
Crosses Stencil IDMM006

My last share is a layout using patterned paper, the paper was very bright so adding a coat of gesso in a range of thicknesses softens but not totally covers the pattern. This is a simple page incorporating Imaginarium Designs chippie and layers of paper.

The colours of peach and pink were added using a roller. I constructed layers of coloured and book page papers to place under the photo and the tag with twig chippie painted with brown paint. The title was made with a combination of chippie letters and #wonderful.

Chippie used include:

IDFL0013 twigs
Isobel Uppercase case alphabet IDA009
Isobel lower case IDA0010
IDW0094 #instagram etc.
Hope you have enjoyed my latest ideas and have a go at some of the new ways I have used the chip board and stencils at Imaginarium Designs.

It's Orange in July with Imaginarium Designs

Hi everyone, If you're in my neck of the woods I hope you are keeping warm. Brrrr it's been so cold.
I'd love to share another of my Imaginarium Designs Chipboard Orange in July creations.

I love photograph and on my holidays last November my goal was to get a photo through my glass ball of the spectacular sunsets over Lake Bonny at Barmera. Can tick that one off my bucket list. Since then I have brought a high quality lensball and am looking forward to doing more photos like this one.

The background was created by sprinkling Lindy's Stamp Gang Oktoberfest Orange Magical Shaker and spraying water liberally over the area moving the page so produces runs. I created a stack of paper with a touch of orange and green which connects the photo to the background. I used a variety of stamps including stamps from VivaLasVadaStamps and Australian artists Fiona Paltridge and Bipasha Bk. The words were made from individual Alpha chippies and the alphas, mumbers and twigs were painted in black acrylic paint.

Thanks for popping over and I hope I've inspired some of you to have a try at something new.
See you next time.

The colour for  May is 'Pink', and not being my favourite colour to work with it has made it a challenge for me. A challenge is great to get the creative juices working and an opportunity to think outside the box for me.

This 12"x 12" layout is my first pink project. My grandies love coming over to Nanny's, they often ask for my watercolour paints and we spend time creating amazing art together.

I love using colour and white space,  this was a perfect way to make the two new pieces of chipboard I used on this layout standout. The background was created by using clear gel medium over a stencil and then spraying the page with water, Lindy's 'bubblegum pink' spray and flicks of turquoise blue spray. Watered down acrylic Dina Wakley paint was used on the chipboard, turquoise on the flourish behind the photo and a combination of the turquoise and rose pink on the 'Artist in training' phrase. With the same colours being used to 'brush' stamp which was stamped with black Archival ink.

My second share is a new page spread in my handmade journal of a handpainted girl on a pink background.

The pages were covered by gesso first then when dry a combination of pink and white Dina Wakley acrylic paint was rubbed on with my fingers over the pieces of cheesecloth which were also added before painting the little girl. Black acrylic paint was used as an ink to print the sections of the 'circles and diamonds' chippie and when dry white gesso was smeared over the clock stencil and the variety of stamps I had stamped onto the page with Archival black ink. With orange acrylic paint and a makeup sponge over the heart stencil, lines of hearts were added and the outer section of the alphabet chipboard  was also used as a stencil. To give the page more depth I stamped Fiona Paltridges flower stamps onto white cardstock, watercoloured them and then fussy cut them to place along the bottom edge of the pages. The finishing touches added included black and white highlighting of the alphabet, hearts and doodling over the pages.

My third and final share for May is a 3D little light globe scene of a fairy garden.

The tiny bird cage was covered with silver ink and then embossed with silver and glistening snow metallic melts. The lace doily chippie was cut so it would fit in the clear globe, painted white and then  segments were wrapped with green twine around the doily. The peacock feather was painted with a thick mixture of Lindy's Stamp Gang magicals. The globe was filled with the chippie and a variety of flowers and buds with blue and clear stones mixed with gel medium placed on the inside base section to surround the small fairy purchased from one of our cheapy shops.

Christmas over at Scrapbooking Top 50.

Wow where has the year gone!!!

Well this is our last challenge for the year and we are something a little different this year for our December mood board.

We also have a secret Santa surprise.

Here is my creation inspired by our mood board:

When I saw this new paper range by DeeDee Catron of 7 Dots Studios I knew I had to have it, 'Northern lights' was perfect with its mix of grunge colours and old world style paper print, the stickers and diecuts gave a pop to my page with it's vibrant splashes of colour. I love using water colours and used my new brights to colour my 'Feather', 'Arrow', and 'Clock' Imaginarium Designs Chipboard and the most amazing Fiona Paltridge feather stamps. Smeared over and splattered on the paper, under and around my elements are another new purchase, my vibrant Diana Wakely acyrlic paints.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a scrapping good new year with lots of time to relax and create.

Imaginarium Designs Chipboard July Creations

Hi everyone, Wow how fast is the year going it's hard to believe we are in the second part of the year already. It's been a busy time for us all and I hope you have been able to get into your craft areas and have fun creating your own pieces of art. I'd love to share with you what I've been creating lately.

My first creation was a layout with a sweet feminine feel.I used a layer of white gesso to soften the paper and then sprayed some Lindy's Stamp Gang ink sprays.

I used Flourishes were covered with Versa ink 'Indigo' and title with 'Evergreen'. The bike was covered with a combo of a deep crimson and black acrylic paint. I used the 'Evergreen' to also cover the frame before covering it with Metallic Melts embossing powder. The small love heart was painted with Dina Wakley Scribble sticks and water.

My second layout is a simple but striking page of my scrapping buddy Fiona Paltridge and myself ; birds of a feather we are. I couldn't wait to use her new stunning stamp range to do this page stamping the feather stamp onto white 12x12 cardstock with StazOn and then tearing some of the cardstock off to make a strip to be placed on the red. I then used Dina Wakley scribble sticks and lots of water to paint over the feather layering the colour until happy.

The cut the frame into 2 pieces and then covered it with Verra Ink 'Black' and the feather in 'Silver'.
The selfie chipboard was covered in spray gesso.

My last share is my latest addition my Imaginarium Journal book. 'Travel Destination'. We regularly go to camping shows and at the Adelaide one last year we came across a caravan through the ages display. This one took my eye so cute.

The chipboard titles were painted with red Dina Wakley scribble sticks with the frame painted in black acrylic paint. The banner was covered with Kaisercraft 6x6 paper and cut out after glue was dry with the edges scribbled around with a fine Sharpie pen.
