Hi from Imaginarium Designs October

Hi everyone, Wow where is the year going!!!! Time is flying and it's my turn to share with you again my creations with our wonderful Imagination Designs Chipboard.

My first piece is my October ID Journal page. This is a page is of my beautiful grandchildren using old fashioned tin can phones in a photo shoot for their great grandpa who was entering a photo competition.

The background was created using a variety of white, blue and green acrylic paints, stamping in gold acrylic and black StazOn, doodling done with a whiteout pen and black acrylic drawing mix in a fineline applicator bottle. The chipboard chosen was perfect to reflect the fun conversation that was happening between my grandchildren. Lots of laughter and Blah Blah and joking around. The arrows were coated in a red acrylic paint for the pop factor and the conversation words in black gesso.

I suddenly realised I hadn't made a card for my nephew for his birthday and my mum was dropping by in 40 mins to pick one up to take to Adelaide...oh oh..

Quick grab the card stock( sprinkled with 2 Lindy's Stamp Gang magical shakers colours and water spray, stamped with Staz On ink, some drawing acrylic paint and pieces of chippie: cogs (cover with Distress ink), a little boy, arrows ( coated with Prima acrylic paint and wax) and Happy birthday (painted with black gess). And of course a heat gun (life saver) and 30mins later a card signed and placed in an envelope with some money was handed to mum as she dropped by with 10mins to spare. YAY!!

I left my favourite creation for the last share of today. I have been inspired by several artists over the last few years including our own Sue Smyth on the Imaginarium Design Team who has been creating amazing 3D book covers and canvas's. I have been saying I'm going to give it a go for what seems forever. So here is my first attempt and I must admit I'm wrapped with how it have come together.

I glued all the chipboard pieces, small frame, resin bits and bobs and metal embellishments I could find onto the book cover, taking my time to explore and experiment in their placement. I then covered them with black gesso and then when dry I added layers of colour with combinations of Prima wax, paints and powders, stamping script writing with StazOn black.

Imaginarium Designs Chipboard July Creations

Hi everyone, Wow how fast is the year going it's hard to believe we are in the second part of the year already. It's been a busy time for us all and I hope you have been able to get into your craft areas and have fun creating your own pieces of art. I'd love to share with you what I've been creating lately.

My first creation was a layout with a sweet feminine feel.I used a layer of white gesso to soften the paper and then sprayed some Lindy's Stamp Gang ink sprays.

I used Flourishes were covered with Versa ink 'Indigo' and title with 'Evergreen'. The bike was covered with a combo of a deep crimson and black acrylic paint. I used the 'Evergreen' to also cover the frame before covering it with Metallic Melts embossing powder. The small love heart was painted with Dina Wakley Scribble sticks and water.

My second layout is a simple but striking page of my scrapping buddy Fiona Paltridge and myself ; birds of a feather we are. I couldn't wait to use her new stunning stamp range to do this page stamping the feather stamp onto white 12x12 cardstock with StazOn and then tearing some of the cardstock off to make a strip to be placed on the red. I then used Dina Wakley scribble sticks and lots of water to paint over the feather layering the colour until happy.

The cut the frame into 2 pieces and then covered it with Verra Ink 'Black' and the feather in 'Silver'.
The selfie chipboard was covered in spray gesso.

My last share is my latest addition my Imaginarium Journal book. 'Travel Destination'. We regularly go to camping shows and at the Adelaide one last year we came across a caravan through the ages display. This one took my eye so cute.

The chipboard titles were painted with red Dina Wakley scribble sticks with the frame painted in black acrylic paint. The banner was covered with Kaisercraft 6x6 paper and cut out after glue was dry with the edges scribbled around with a fine Sharpie pen.

Imaginarium Designs May Share.

Hi everyone, Hope you all had a wonderful Mothers Day and had a very relaxing day. I'm back this month to share some of the pieces that I created recently.

My first piece was produced for the amazing Kraft+ Out of the Box Challenge which Imaginarium Designs were sponsoring this month. The challenge was to not use square or rectangular photos on a Kraft paper stock background.

I used a honeycomb die from Tim Holtz to cut out the photo and covered the hexagon shapes out of the Honeycomb chipboard and Loolabelles' nested hexagons to compliment the photo shape. The title 'Got the travel bug' and 'oh yeah' were painted with acrylic paint.

My second piece is a journal page. I love using my handmade journal to explore techniques, paints/inks and products. I alway use pieces of Imaginarium chipboard in this journal.

The background was created using Finnabair metallic paints over gessoed pages and tissue paper with distressed printed material and material threads. The chipboard obtained it's sparkling depth was a simple layer of Finnabair metallic teal paint or StazOn Midnight blue ink.

The chipboard I used included:

The third piece is a canvas layout using Inktense pencils to draw interlocking squares like the chipboard I used.
